CAF (Development Bank of Latin America) offices
Buenos Aires

Memory
The work consisted of supervision, control and adjustments to the project and construction for the expansion of the corporate offices of the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) in the city of Buenos Aires.
The general strategies for setting up the offices involved the creation of an open workspace or “open plan” that grouped users in large surfaces without compartmentalization, incorporating areas with collaborative spaces according to the different work teams.
Sectors were differentiated by storage furniture, glass screens, wooden partitions and furniture, making the new architectural space an open environment that stimulates collaborative work.
The plant was designed to accommodate a maximum of forty-two employees. They are distributed in three areas linked by a central service core containing toilets, closets and various storage rooms.
This core is fully clad in light oak veneer. It houses and subtly conceals all the entrances to the various sanitary areas and storage rooms.
All rooms have been placed towards the facades to make the most of natural light. The management offices were located in the corners of the floor, leaving the open office space in the central part.
The meeting rooms and cafeteria are arranged on an axis facing the entrance to the floor, occupying the northwest façade. This allows for differentiating the spaces according to their activity without separating them, allowing for greater flexibility and views throughout the entire layout.
The design has contemplated the use of glass as a floor-to-ceiling enclosure.
Particular attention has been paid to the design of details and the use of few materials, especially in the encounters.
Lighting has been used as a determining factor to define the spaces.
